A trip home...

We went home to IN for Christmas for the first time in 2 years...We had a great time seeing familiy and friends. My cousin Rachel got married on Dec. 27th in OH, so we were able to go to her wedding and meet her new husband, Sean. The weather was 65 degrees and very pleasant. It was a heat wave for us Minnesotans! :)

Garrett celebrated his first birthday on the 18th. He loved his cupcake. With Caroline, we had to put the frosting in her mouth before she would take a bite. Garrett on the other hand, dug right in!

Garrett is signing, "more, all done, banana, and milk." He is saying a few words too: "Mama, Dada, book, dog, that, ball and uh oh." Garrett really knows how to push Caroline's buttons (already!). If she has a toy, he goes right for it..the fighting starts pretty early! He isn't walking yet, but still cruising all over the place and even stood for about 10 seconds while we were in IN.

We have his 1 year appointment next Thursday, so, we'll see how much he has grown!

At the kids table

This brought back memories of sitting at the kids' table at Grandma and Grandpa Scherger's throughout the years...

Cole, Karen, and me

I got together with a few friends while I was in Indy...Karen and I used to swim together and Cole is a speech pathologist that lived across the street from Karen. Cole and I also did our student teaching with the same supervisor...small world~!

I fell asleep while Grandma was rocking me

Caroline's Gingerbread House

We made gingerbread houses at my friend Chris' house in Indianapolis. Chris and I used to make huge houses for a couple years. We would spend about 4 hours decorating the houses. This year was a bit different...there were about 12 kids under the age of 3!!

Caroline didn't want to take any more pictures...

Lara and Wagner were in town from Hilton Head. It was great to meet Delaney.

My letter to Santa

I told Grandma what I wanted to say to Santa. I helped write my name. Caroline wrote the "C, O, L, I" all by herself. I was so proud of her!
