Hey Sam, wake up!

We went to my graduate school friend, Monica's house on Friday. She just had her second baby, a little boy named Sam. Garrett looked HUGE compared to 3 week old Sam. Carina and Caroline had fun playing together!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I tried to get Caroline to take her thumb out of her mouth. I asked about three times, very nicely. Finally she said, "No. I don't want to take my thumb out of my mouth right now!" Ok...

Do I have a double chin?

Maybe I'll be a baseball player like my Daddy was...

But, sorry Grandma's...since we live in MN now, I might play ice hockey like my Daddy did too! :)

8 weeks old

We had Garrett's 8 week appt. on Tuesday. He is 13 pounds and 22 inches long. He caught Caroline's cold this week, but seems to be getting better. I told Caroline that Garrett caught her cough and she said, "Not Caroline's cough, Garrett's cough." :)

Parallel lives

Some of you have heard this story of me and Ginnie, but for those of you that haven't, I thought I would share...

My sister in law, Mary, had always talked about her dear friend Ginnie and how she wanted us to meet someday because she felt we were leading parallel lives. Well, I think she was right.

First off, Ginnie is a physical therapist, I'm a speech therapist; she and her husband Noel got married on August 4, 2001, so did we. They had Cora in July of 2005, Caroline was born in August 2005. We moved up to MN (they had already moved up here for her Noel's job). We ended up moving to a town that's maybe 5 minutes from where Ginnie and Noel live. Then, I told Ginnie that we were pregnant again and 2 or 3 days later, she told me they were pregnant too! We found out we were having a boy and they weren't going to find out. But, Ginnie didn't want to bank on the fact that she "thought" they would have a boy because our lives were so similar, so they found out too! Garrett was due on Dec. 24 and Charlie was due on Dec. 21. So, Garrett came on the 18th and Charlie on the 21st...We hope that the two boys will be as good of friends as the girls are. :)

So, we are thankful that Mary introduced us to some great friends!!!

Sorry, Charlie!

I'm trying to get Charlie with my sucker punch

Flying Solo

Well, I'm finally on my own with the two kids...After almost 5-6 weeks of help, I am flying solo. Patrick's parents were here for the first week, then my mom came for 2 weeks, and my dad for a few days, and then Patrick took his 2nd week off for his paternity leave last week. He was a big help and I was able to have some much needed "me" time and sleep. After about 2 days home though, Patrick decided that 12-14 hour days in the hosptial were easier than staying home. :) Caroline enjoyed having Daddy take her to some of her classes as well because he doesn't usually ever get to go. Garrett is 6 weeks old now and starting to smile...now if we could just get some longer stretches at night, Mommy would be happy. He had a few 4 hour stretches last week, but that hasn't happened since. We looked in Caroline's baby book and she didn't have a long stretch till 7 weeks old, maybe he will do the same! :) Take care and stay warm!

I love my baby brother!

I like trying on Mommy's socks.

I have big eyes like my sister!

Having fun fingerpainting on the paper...

And on my face.

Do you like my mohawk?

Daddy likes to play "crazy hair" when I'm in the bathtub. You never know what it will look like!

Looking so hip in my Gap T!

Thanks Uncle Michael and Aunt Mary!

Grandpa is multitasking!
