Two years down, three to go!!!
Patrick just started his 3rd year of residency today!! So, this is for all of you have known us since we started dating (Dec. 1997), those of you who knew us when Patrick was in med school, those of you who knew us when he was STILL in med school, and those of you who met us when we moved to MN and have asked, "So, when is Pat done with school? How many years of residency does he have left? He's not a staff, YET??" Well, to answer all of your questions, we have 3 more years left here in MN. It really has gone quickly and he loves the program. After he finishes his 5 years here, he will do a fellowship for one year. After lots of thinking and talking about what his specialty will be, he has decided (or we have decided)on orthopedic oncology. He will do surgeries on bone and muscle tumors. So, that is our news and it feels really great to have made a decision. We now know what to look forward to in the future. So, we are getting there!!!

6 months old
Garrett had his 6 month appointment last Thursday. He was 18 lbs. 5.6 oz. and 26 1/2 inches long (he was 27 inches at 4 months, so I think the nurses aren't measuring something correctly because I am pretty sure he didn't shrink!). He was in the 65th percentile for weight and 50th percentile for height. He's a happy guy and even had a slight fever with a cold this week but was still smiley and happy most of the time. :)

Trip to Indiana
I drove home last week with the kids because Patrick had a conference in Canada. I don't know what would have been worse, being home for a week by myself or making the drive by myself...luckily, we drove to Chicago on the first leg and picked up my sister-in-law, Mary. She drove the rest of the way to IN with us.
Well, about an hour away from Indianapolis, we had to pull off the road because the storms were so bad. We sat in a Dairy Queen for about an hour and met some nice people who were also doing the same thing... it was such a small world because I was showing off Caroline's skills to Mary and I said, "Caroline, tell Aunt Mary where you live." She said, "St. Louis Park," and the guy behind us said, "I used to live in St. Louis Park!" Funny. So, we got back on the road and ended up pulling over another 3 times and finally decided to stay the night in a hotel. But, we made it to Indianapolis safely the next day!
Patrick's Grandparents and Aunt Sue came to visit from West Virginia. They had not met Garrett yet, so it was great for them to see him and to see Caroline again. Pat's brother, Michael came the next day and then Kathleen, his sister came a few days later. I then headed to Kokomo and my Dad's brother and sister came to also meet Garrett (and see Caroline too!). Thanks to everyone that came to see us!
